Polytech - The Polytech Center For LearningThe Polytech Tutoring Center is a center for learning for students who are deeply immersed in the learning process. It is a place where students learn, play and grow, without being in an environment that can be as demanding as the classroom.The Polytech Center for Learning offers five different classes that students can take, from Kindergarten through High School. At the Polytech center, each class offers different techniques, methods and practices that are designed to address specific learning needs of each student. The classes are developed with students in mind. Students participate in all the classes that they choose, which enables each student to learn on his or her own terms.Classes offered at the Polytech Center for Learning include: Creative Learning, Creative Technologies, Elementary Design, Global Learning, Language Arts, Math, Mathematics for All, Mathematical Thinking Skills, Sociology, and Technology. There are also independent study classes available for students who prefer to pursue their studies on their own. Classes can be taken in the afternoon or evening, during weekdays or weekends, when school is not in session.The Polytech Center for Learning is unique because it provides several enrichment activities for students. These activities include physical education, reading programs, art and music and computer classes. These activities provide students with an enriched learning experience.The Polytech Tutoring Center also offers a self-help center for students to receive support, resources and guidance. This includes academic and personal counseling services. The self-help center services offer counseling on the skills and techniques necessary to meet the unique learning needs of every student. The center also provides activities and curricula that parents can use to prepare their children for school.In order to complete the program at the Polytech tutoring center, students must pass both the basic skill s portion and the complex skills portion of the ELA (English Language Arts) exam. Students do not need to sit in a classroom and attend a class, but they still have to learn through direct interaction with other students and with a trained teacher. The coursework that students have to take will also vary according to the particular class. This is so they can gain knowledge about the different teaching techniques, methods and practices that they need to know in order to excel in their specific course.During the year, the students at the Polytech tutoring center are given the opportunity to participate in a number of activities that they can use to enhance their skills and knowledge. These activities include creative workshops, social clubs, parent support and group work. Activities are designed to expand the student's skills and knowledge in various subjects, as well as their social and emotional development.In order to get the most out of the skills and knowledge that they have acqu ired through the many activities that they engage in at the Polytech tutoring center, students should expect to have fun. They should be challenged and they should be given the opportunity to help and share with other students.
